Celebrity workout: Kelly Ripa's diet and exercise routine


Kelly Ripa works hard for her body.

It's hard to believe Kelly Ripa of the Regis and Kelly show only spends 45 minutes to an hour on her workout. This mother of 3 is lean and toned like someone who spends a lot more time in the gym.

Her workout involves time spent with personal trainer, Keith Byard, an ex Marine. The video below gives a 6-minute rundown of a typical workout, including cardio. She is quick to note everything she does can be done at home. For the cardio-haters out there, she stresses any workout regimen must include cardio.

For diet, she breaks the cardinal rule about breakfast and doesn't eat until mid-morning. Until then, coffee gets her through. Otherwise, she grazes with small healthy meals and snacks throughout the day. A family chef helped her get smart about nutrition and portion control.

    No offense, but why are so many of you seemingly obsessed with Kelly? You obviously don't watch the show, because if you did you would know the facts. Kelly's workouts have expanded to included many different activities, not just what you managed to assess on youtube.

    Kelly has said she runs about 6 miles max 4 times per week. Hey you should know, as do I, this is no big deal for a runner. She has been known to, by her own omission, to take the odd spinning class. She swears by Studio 57. I'm

    I'm a pilates person so I know what that kind of workout can do for your muscles, especially when one is petite. And wow, she even takes some ballet. I'm sure there's more but, really, who cares? Like WHO CARES?

    It's like these articles are trying to trap Kelly. Perhaps it wasn't your intention but when you start with "it's hard to believe", it lends itself to a trap job.

    I don't have, never have had, an eating disorder or weight issues. Everyone is wired differently. Big breakfast? Yuck. Oh, and I'm not an obsessed fan. I know all this stuff because I watch Live's host chat everyday with my coffee.

    Great workout routine Kelly took a long break from working out. But in 2007 she quit smoking and got back into it. Now she looks great, and toned. really appreciative.
