Michael Martinez, mastermind behind MiM presents produced Haute, a fashion show and birthday celebration for friend and designer Locoya Hill Thursday, November 19th at Etiquette Lounge.

The early part of the night was the celebration of designer Locoya Hill’s birthday. The birthday celebration was complete with champagne and a cake image that was too explicit to show on the Examiner.com but ill tease you a bit; Locoya was depicted in the center between two naked, hard bodied men in a sandwich with frosting add for emphasis. This was a cake decoration that you had to see to believe.

Among the mingling crowd were a gaga of porn stars including guest DJ and porn star Tristan Jaxx, the Emperor of San Francisco Paul Maka Poole, members of the nightlife community such as Club Eight Marketing Director Phillip Alvarado and promoter Nolan Westhoek. Porn star Tristan Phoenix was also in the house as a model. “I started in modeling,” Phoenix began. “During my modeling days, I was known as Hayden Krosse. I miss runway.”

It seemed as though everyone in the house was a model because there were two fashion shows occurring. Locoya Hill’s couture pieces and Noah Landis of Kent Denim were the center of attention on this chilly night in San Francisco. Locoya said, “This is my first time doing a fashion show. I began my career working at Neiman Marcus and moved to couture accessories. I was selling extremely rare items such as $20,000.00 hand bags.”

Hill has put a great amount of time into his line. “I collaborated on every piece of the attires wore by my models tonight. I have know there people for years and wanted their personalities to shine and be expressed in their outfits. Just to get a basic idea of what I was designing, I spent more two plus hours with each person.” Hill’s models included Charisma from the Haus of Glitterati, BeBe Sweetbriar, Martinez, and Sister Roma.

Landis’ Kent Denim has been around for some time. A 7 year veteran of fashion, Landis knew to have a future in fashion; he had to move to New York, “the fashion capital” as he puts it. Landis adds, “But San Francisco is my inspiration. [San Franciscan’s] don’t follow trends, we make trends! The entire city is an urban runway.”

“Kent Denim is made in the United States and uses American source materials. In fact, our Denim utilizes the greenest sources in the United States and can be purchased at Free Gold Watch in San Francisco.” said Landis. Landis would not release the name of his source.

The runway for the fashion show was the solo bar of Etiquette Lounge. Interestingly enough, this worked perfectly. Though shorter than an average runway, the models and fashion were high above the crowd to provide a preview of new up-and-coming fashions. In between the men’s line by Landis and the women’s line by Hill, balancing and contortionist let the crowds dropping their jaws at their out-of-this-world level of flexibility and skill.
