ABOUT MATTHEW SHEPARD FOUNDATION

The Matthew Shepard Foundation was founded by Dennis and Judy Shepard in memory of their 21-year old son, Matthew, who was murdered in an anti-gay hate crime in Wyoming on October 12, 1998.

Created to honor Matthew in a manner that was appropriate to his dreams, beliefs and aspirations, the Foundation seeks to "Replace Hate with Understanding, Compassion & Acceptance" through its varied educational, outreach and advocacy programs and by continuing to tell Matthew's story.

My suggestion is that instead of meeting at 18th and Castro, you all go to 408 Clement Street (the Rock-It Room) and protest the performance of murder-monger and Jamaican "musician" Buju Banton, whose lyrics talk about shooting gay men in the head and pouring acid on them. This would be a much better way to honor Matthew Shepard and achieve your goal of erasing hate. We managed to get Banton's sorry ass canceled in San Jose; San Francisco should be able to do the same EASILY.

Sorry, make that 406 Clement Street.
