Exor Studios' "Zombie Driver" makes driving games meatier

This year Polish game developer Exor Studios brings us a fresh (or should I say “rotten) new genre—the zombie driving game. That makes it sound like you get to play a car-enthusiast zombie but sadly, no.

In this new hybrid, set to be released in November and made by the makers of last year's aptly-titled car combat game “D.I.P.R.I.P. (Die in Pain, Rest in Peace) Warmup”, you get behind the wheel as a regular ol' human and use cars to smash zombies.

In Zombie Driver, players focus their energy less on destruction and more on saving the non-zombie survivors of a chemical accident. The city's infested with brain-eating monsters, so time is of the essence; players can't be shy about crashing through fences, phone booths, street lamps and oh yeah—zombie hordes.

The game offers players a grisly good time as they roam the streets racking up rewards by performing impressive kill combos, seeking out hidden prizes and completing side quests.

In addition to many side quests and bonus objectives, Zombie Driver features 17 main story missions, six different driveable vehicles, 9 car upgrades and a slew of mountable, upgradeable car weaponry such as miniguns, flamethrowers, rocket launchers and dual railguns.

The game is being developed using the Ogre3D rendering engine and PhysX by NVIDIA and will be available on Steam next month.
