Netflix on PS3 jumps atop streaming video dogpile

Fashionably late to the party as usual, Netflix has announced today that Playstation 3 users with an internet connection will be able to watch Netflix videos "instantly" soon. (Sweet, we wonder if Netflix's notorious scratched DVD user experience ports to the web as well.)

Anyway, savvy Playstation 3 owners already know they can already watch films "instantly" via the Playstation Store. Rentals are as cheap as $2.99 and we just rented 'Knocked Up' last weekend. The deal went down easier than TiVo's hateful Blockbuster video interface. That abomination needs to be taken out behind the shed and put out of its miserable existence.

Between AppleTV, Xbox 360, Netflix, Hulu and now this - it seems like everyone is the world is bending over backwards to get more video into our living rooms in every way that's not cable television. But as long as everything is available for free on the internet, we say, 'good luck with that' to anyone pimping a limited selection at a price marked up several thousand percent from distribution costs.
