The game features 4 player online play too.
Since Activision's merger with industry heavyweights, Blizzard, Activision-Blizzard has now become the largest 3rd party developer/publisher of video games on the planet. Taking this into account, it was rather bizzare that Activision had very little in the way of gaming stations at this year's E3. Sure, they had over a dozen projector screens flashing clips from their upcoming releases, but attendees got little to no opportunity to get any hands-on time with Activision's upcoming releases.
Case-in-point, Activision was offering frequent, closed-door demos of the highly anticipated Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 but nobody was actually allowed to play the game. The frustration was compounded by the fact that we were told that there will be a playable version of the game available at this year's International Comic-Con in San Diego only 5 weeks later.
So while we'll all have to wait a bit longer to get our greasy mitts on Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, I can at least report what was shown in the demo.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is, obviously, the sequel to the game of the same name, minus the 2. However the story of this game will take place during the Civil War saga in the Marvel comic books that primarily took place last year. Even though the Civil War saga has now ended in the comics, we have been told that you may not get the same outcome in the video game and that there will multiple endings available.
For those of you that might not be familiar with the gameplay from MUA, you can play with up to 4 people all playing as heroes, and anti-heroes, from the Marvel universe. It's a beat-em-up style of action with a bird's-eye-view camera. The game also packs an RPG element where you can level up your characters over time.
In MUA2, there will be a grand total of 24 playable characters to choose from, each of which has their own unique abilities and playstyles. Some of the characters already announced are Spider-Man, Venom, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Deadpool, Wolverine, Songbird, Iceman and Storm.
New to MUA2, heroes will be able to team-up with other characters to preform super moves. For example, Thor can create a tornado and then Human Torch can cast fire into the tornado to create a flaming tornado. The developers claim that there will be hundreds of these kinds of super move combinations.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 will be available for PLAYSTATION 3 and XBOX 360 this fall. I will do a follow-up to this story after I get a chance to play it at Comic-Con.

That picture is from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1, this article is not to be trusted
I used the first pic because they didn't allow photography in the demo and I didn't have the art assets yet. New photo is up, and the article is 100% accurate, feel free to compare it to the info on any other website.
No the pic is from MUA2 - Songbird is in it (unless it has been changed since you posted) I don't think Iceman has been announced as playable though unless you had some super-insider info! A bit sketchy to me.
Yeah I don't trust him saying Ice-man is in either
Yeah, Iceman has not been confirmed, or speculated. It's doubtful he'll be in the initial roster.
If by 100% accurate you mean 100% minus this Iceman mistake, sure.
So... I compared your 100% accurate article to other information from other websites and I gotta say, you are the only one in the world right now who claims that Iceman is playable, if that is indeed true, kudos, thanks for the info... Otherwise...
Yay! I see alot of herohq members posting here!
So, since when was Iceman announced? Man, where have I been?
Where the HELL is CYCLOPS!!! GODDAMNIT!!
Songbird was not in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1.....?
Got something to say?
