The winners of the Fifth Annual Good for Her Feminist Porn Awards have been officially announced. San Francisco pornographers – producers, directors, and stars – have come out on top.
Local sex toy shop, Good Vibrations’ porn distribution company, Good Releasing, had a good showing at the FPAs with wins for both their Reel Queer Productions and HeartCore Films production lines. The winners of Best Bi Movie, Fluid: Men Redefining Sexuality, and Most Tantalizing Trans Film, Speakeasy, are both Reel Queer Productions films, and the winner of Most Deliciously Diverse Cast, Dangerous Curves, is a HeartCore Films production.
Good Releasing and Good For Her partnered for the creation of the Good Releasing Emerging Filmmaker Award, which went to Tobi Hill-Meyer this year. The award includes a grant to aid in completion in the filmmaker’s first erotic film project. Ms. Hill-Meyer’s award-granting work is Doing It Ourselves: The Trans Women Porn Project. Perhaps that film will be nominated for a future FPA.
San Francisco residents and porn directors Madison Young and Courtney Trouble were also big winners at this year’s Feminist Porn Awards. Ms. Young directed Fluid: Men Redefining Sexuality, and Ms. Trouble directed Speakeasy. Both films were also filmed in San Francisco using local talent both in front of and behind the camera.
Speakeasy stars Jiz Lee, San Francisco resident and The Boundary Breaker award winner at the 2010 Feminist Porn Awards. Dangerous Curves stars April Flores, this year’s Heartthrob of the Year. While Ms. Flores is not a San Francisco resident, her work with HeartCore Films, Courtney Trouble, and Madison Young brings her to our fair city often.
Finally, The Visionary award at this year’s FPAs was given to Shine Louise Houston, who also lives in San Francisco.
Congratulations to all our local porn talent!
