KinkForAll San Francisco is scheduled for March 21, 2010. From 10 am to 5 pm at the Women’s Building, this “unconference” is open to everyone and completely free. However, everyone who attends is expected to participate in some way – be it setting up, giving a presentation, or leading a discussion.  None of the events are to be longer than 20 minutes.

The presentations can be anything that fall within the purview of “the intersection of sexuality with the rest of life” and, at other KinkForAll events, have included being out as kinky and polyamorous on law school application essays, expressing one’s sexuality using various forms of technology, bondage safety, and the fluidity of gender, among others.

San Francisco is a great environment to hold such an event because of her myriad citizens who are open-minded and accepting of ideas different from their own. KinkForAll San Francisco will be an opportunity to learn what other San Franciscans are doing and thinking about sexuality, a subject that is important in everyone’s life, even those who don’t “have sex.”

According to a study conducted by the Kinsey Institute what people consider “having sex” differs greatly based on the age of the people and the particular acts performed. It wouldn’t be surprising if the implications of the study comes up at KinkForAll San Francisco.

KinkForAll San Francisco is sure to be an interesting event.

Thanks for writing about KinkForAll San Francisco, Suzanne. :)

Indeed! One topic I hope a participant will bring up at KinkForAll San Francisco is asexuality. I'm excited that KinkForAll is coming to the West coast. It seems both strangely odd, and yet very encouraging, that past events happened in relatively sexually conservative New England, doesn't it? :)

For those interested, Google for "KinkForAll videos" to get a taste of some of the previous talks.
