First up...
Opening a new box from LELO is the *Sexy Toys* equivalent of getting a new iPod from the Apple Store or, daresay, a little Tiffany-blue gift bag. This week I'll be reviewing three "pleasure objects" from the Swedish designer sex toy company, starting with the smallest and most surprising of the bunch.
The LELO Mia is a discrete little USB rechargeable vibrator from the LELO "Femme" line, disguised as a tube of lipstick. Plug it into your computer for a few hours, then throw it in your purse: It'll be good for up to four hours of use on the charge, and should pass a cursory inspection of the contents of your bag. I guess if airport security sweats you about it you could claim it's a flash drive?
I think because it looks like a novelty item, I wasn't expecting much from the Mia. In its buyer's guide, LELO appropriately recommends the product for first-time vibe users, but its gentle vibration is actually a lot more impressive than I'd guessed. The intuitive +/- controls run from a nearly imperceptible little hum to an intense buzz, and even at full-bore it runs quietly. Like all of LELO's erotic playthings, the Mia is made of phthalate-free plastic, so sticking it where it's designed to go won't give you any irritation problems, and I found the smooth finish, gentle vibe, and variable settings to be extremely pleasant.
Because the Mia is small and well-designed, it's also a nice toy for couples play. If you've never used a vibrator before, or if you've only ever used them on your own, this is a nice one to try introducing into your relationship: I tried it on my own, with a male partner, and in combination with the two other LELO products I'll be reviewing this week, and I'd recommend it for women, couples, or anybody who travels a lot and/or spends a lot of time... surfing the web.
