Introducing the Sexy Twitterati: A who's who of sex & relationships writers on Twitter

I'm new to Twitter – @sexaminer has a nice ring to it, no? – and I made it my first priority upon signing up to start "following" some of my favorite sex and relationships writers. Now that I've done the initial groundwork on that front, I thought I'd go ahead and publish the results of my findings so my readers can follow all the cool kids, too. And, in the interest of creating a sexy and useful resource here, I'll commit to updating this article over time: If I missed anyone important, please post Twitter profiles in the comments below: I'll check them out and add them to the list. As a word of warning, you might want to wait until you're not on your work or school computer before following some of these links, a lot of them intended for adults.

Here goes...

I check the Scanner Blog at Nerve.com throughout the day to stay on top of sexy news. I'm now following Scanner Emily (left) and Scanner Colleen on Twitter: @scanneremily and @colleenkane Also: Nerve.com's Steph Auteri is @stephauteri

Rachel Kramer Bussel (thanks to @scanneremily for the recommendation!) is the editor, most recently, of The Mile High Club: Plane sex stories, and is a senior editor at Penthouse Variations: She's Twitering @raquelita. She also blogs about cupcakes at cupcakestakethecake.blogspot.com/

Erotic photographer Clayton Cubitt is one of my favorite artists, and I'm obsessed with The Constant Siege, his online artist's notebook and Tumblr blog. No surprise: Turns out he's a prolific Twitterer, too: @claytoncubitt

Fleshbot is the delightfully NSFW arm of the Gawker empire, and blogger Lux Alptraum is the self-proclaimed Queen of Fleshbot.com (safer for work... she's also now blogging for the Sundance Channel's new SUNfiltered/Naked Love blog). She's Twittering @luxnightmare.

Sex blog pioneers Em and Lo – aka Emma Taylor and Lorelei Sharkey, "the Emily Posts of the modern bedroom," and authors of last year's must-have book Sex: How to do everything – are blogging over at the SUNfiltered/Naked Love blog, too. Follow their Tweets @emandlo

One time one of my favorite sex writers linked to a story of mine about the nude Sasha Grey American Apparel ads on her website and I got boatloads of referral traffic from it. Here's returning the return favor, Susannah Breslin, aka Reverse Cowgirl. Breslin also blogs on Slate.com's XX Factor and at TheFrisky.com. Busy lady! She's Twittering @reversecowpie

Mark Kernes is Senior Editor at Adult Video News, which Breslin recently callled "the New York Times of Porn Valley." He's a-Twitterin, too: @markkernes

I get the impression that just about EVERYBODY in the adult film industry is Twittering – must be a lot of downtime on some of those porn sets! – but for now I'll keep it quick: I've been writing about Sasha Grey a lot lately since she keeps making news, and she's also my favorite Twitterer so far: @sashagrey. And then there's my current porn crush, Stoya (pictured at left): @stoya, another devoted Twitterer.

Susie Bright, author and editor, most recently, of X: The Erotic Treasury (Putting the X in Sex) and a couple dozen other sexy books is pretty much the undisputed Queen of Erotica and writing about sex: @susiebright

Another excellent erotica writer with a few dozen books to her name and now also a prolific Twitterer: Shanna Germain was recently featured in The Erotic Mind podcast over at my friend Richard Wagner's site, DrDickSexAdvice.com. She's on Twitter @mindf*ckfiction

Audacia Ray ("the sexiest Twit I know," says @stephauteri) is the author of Naked on the Internet: Hookups, downloads, and cashing in on Internet sexploration. She blogs at wakingvixen.com and Tweets @audaciaray. Bonus for you New Yorkers: Audacia Ray is speaking on "Porn, the 1st Amerndment, and the State of Obscenity Law" April 14 at the Brooklyn Law School's Sex & The Law Symposium

Party Girl author Anna David is the sex & relationships expert on the G4 network's Attack of the Show, and blogs at Annalytical: (Over) analysis of everything. Her new book Bought drops next month. She's Twitter crazy: @annabdavid

You know what this list needs? More males! Here's a hell of a Twitterer for you: @McBeardo, the cult movie maven at MrSkin.com.

Scanner Colleen recommended TheSabs.com blogger Sabrina Roberts, and that's good enough for me: @SnarkySabs. Also via Scanner Colleen: Emily McCombs of Asylum, Lemondrop, and BUST Magazine fame: @Emily_at_Asylum

A few of my fellow (s)Examiners are Twittering some sexy bits too:  Boston Sex & Relationships Examiner Effie Orfanides (left) is @legendarywriter, Marriage & Sex Examiner Chuck Altmix is @eXXXaminer,  SF Gay & Lesbian Examiner Kelvin Lynch is @examinerkelvin, and Erotica Books Examiner Acquanetta Ferguson is @nattagyrl

Again, I'm happy to add to this list and will update perpetually if necessary: Please post your favorite sex writers' Twitter profiles (or your own) in the comments below, folks, and please come follow me while you're at it! Also, I'd be delighted if you'd repost this resource far and wide or consider using some of the ShareThis tools attached to this article for Facebook, Digg, Reddit, and (of course) Twitter.

Love,

Sarah @sexaminer

Great list and thanks for including Clayton Cubitt - one of my favorites, too. I've been resisting Twitter so far but... That Twitter pic of Stoya might have just sold me on the idea!

omg, I'm sexy! I have to say, I've always found it amusing that I'm a sex writer blogging about shopping on a sex site. My non-Nerve work is much sexier. :)

And thanks for including me among all these awesome sexperts!
