Pattern pick of the week

This week’s pattern pick is Sis Boom’s Patricia Tunic Pattern.

Why it works: The Patricia Tunic is another wonderful collaboration between Sis Boom’s Jennifer Paganelli and The Scientific Seamstress, Carla Hegeman Crim. This is the adult-size version of the sweet and sassy Sophie Tunic. This one is multi-sized and includes US sizes 0 to 18 as well as 1X to 3X. Summer comfort couldn’t be prettier.

Why you’ll love it: This easy-to-make tunic will be your go-to pattern for a light, summery wardrobe – this top will take you anywhere. The pattern itself gives lots of options but the inspiration doesn’t stop there. Visit Carla’s website to see what her pattern testers came up with and you’ll be off and running.

Some fabrics to consider: Of course, this pattern was designed with Jennifer’s wonderful fabric lines in mind – it is the perfect fit. The combinations of pattern and color are limitless. Made up in Jennifer’s ‘Leann’ fabric in ‘Grass’ from her ‘Dance With Me’ line, you can almost feel the Caribbean breezes blowing.

Other options: Perfect for coordinating fabrics, this pattern is also a primed canvas just waiting for lots of embellishment techniques – embroidery, trim, buttons… The pattern is available at YouCanMakeThis.com. Be sure to "show-and-share" by posting photos of your finished creations. Peek at Carla’s other patterns while you’re there. Summer's here...get sewing!

I just came upon your site when I was doing some research for machine embroidery designs. I love the tunic for this week, and I've been browsing past picks of the week and I like most of them. Are there any tips you have for machine embroidery or clothing design with embroidery? I'm still learning what types of fabrics work.

This tunic pattern looks so cute and easy to make! I have some machine embroidery patterns, but nothing like this. I'll have to look at it more and get started soon! http://www.stitchnmouse.com
