Project Runway Designer Nicolas Putvinski's New York Fashion Week show at Touch on Wednesday was a stunning tableau of gowns backed up with some magical makeup by Kevin Daniel Price, who is a makeup artist at MAC cosmetics.

Models stood, lounged, and lay upon that stage at the nightclub Touch for nearly three hours as guests snapped pics, and talked with Nicolas about the gowns, all of which were gorgeous, and clearly meant for a broad range of events.  There was the Rocker Girl metal bustier/teddy for the performer; the prim—but certainly not boring—brocade gala event dress; and the crowning look of a sheer white beaded drape of a top and skirt that was born to be a red carpet showstopper.

Nic's gowns were not upstaged by Kevin's perfect makeup, which could have easily been the case with a weaker designer. The models' make-up was perfectly-over-the-top and tailored for each look. These women were meant to appear fierce and powerful, and Kevin conveyed that very clearly.

He then added another layer to his part of the collaboration in the expert application of slashed skin appliances to the men that lay at the feet of the models. Try as I might, I could not see a single seam in any of the men's "wounds." He added a bit of whimsy to the blood with a bit of glitter in the mix just to keep things clearly in the realm of fantasy.

Although standing in one spot in 4-inch heels for hours is difficult work for any model, these ladies pulled it off without a whimper. As a result, the effect of the presentation was more memorable than a runway show, and well worth every moment of toe-scrunching. Thank you Nic, Kevin, and models for a truly wonderful presentation.
