Serving seniors and their families has been a lifelong career for Derrick Merchant. From managing caregivers for a home care agency in New York City to starting his own company here in Atlanta in 2002, Derrick has served the aging population for more than 20 years. Today, Alternative Home Care for Seniors employs more than 100 caregivers and provides personal care and companionship throughout metro Atlanta. In 2008, the agency founded "Sweaters For Seniors," a program that provides new and like-new sweaters to nonprofit organizations that support seniors in Gwinnett County and beyond.
