As the hull-breached "SS Climate Change" struggles to stay afloat after smashing bow-first into the reality of scientific fact, more Warmists-turned-Realists are abandoning ship and heading for the lifeboats.
The latest anthropogenic global warming (AGW) True Believer to don a life vest is physicist Dr. Denis Rancourt, a former professor and environmental science researcher at the University of Ottawa.
In an exclusive video interview released by Climate Depot, Rancourt blasts global warming as a "corrupt social phenomenon and "an imaginary problem of the first-world middle class."
Rancourt excoriates his former "climate change" counterparts, calling them "guilt-laden individuals" who "look for comfortable lies that they can settle into and alleviate the guilt they feel about being on the privileged end of the planet -- a kind of survivors guilt."
Rancourt spares no criticism of the global warming cult, describing psuedo-scientist believers as career "service intellectuals" who are afraid to "critique the [AGW] science in a way that could threaten the power interests that keep them in their jobs."
“You have this army of university scientists, and they have to pretend like they are doing important research without ever criticizing the powerful interests in a real way," Rancourt explains. "So what do they look for? They look for elusive sanitized things like acid rain, global warming” in an attempt "to neutralize any kind of dissent."
Rancourt also tosses these verbal grenades:
On Al Gore's "An inconvenient Truth": “I felt ill walking out of the theatre. It's terrible. It does not respect the intelligence of the viewer. The film does not acknowledge people can think for themselves at all."
On carbon trade (i.e. energy taxes): “Someone is going to make a lot of money from these schemes. I have great distrust for it. It is not motivated by true concern for social justice and the environment. It can only be about powerful financiers. I see it as an horrendous scam.”
On the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC): The scientists are “named by governments . . . they are scientists who accept to serve a political role . . . Their goal is [to] find a conclusion . . . it is a political process.”

This may come as a surprise to the Pentagon and climate scientists at NOAA, who recently (7/28/2010) affirmed that climate change is UNDENIABLE. There is an article in the 7/28 FT that addresses this, and I would suggest you read it (to have a well rounded opinion) and determine the facts for yourselves.
So, here is a quote from the article (links are not allowed)
"This confirms that while all of this [Climategate] was going on, the earth was continuing to warm. It shows that Climategate was a distraction, because it took the focus off what the science actually says,” said Bob Ward, policy director of the Grantham Institute at the London School of Economics."
Of course there will always be skeptics, and the remedies are not clear, but it IS clear that our planet is warming.
Denying the fact of warming does not cause it to go away.
But it may cause US to go away.
Everything this "examiner" writes is bunk. He's admittedly a public relations man and I suspect that his cflients propaganda needs propel his awful writing. He's certainly not a reporter in any sense of the word. I'd guess he has Exxon-Mobil or the Koch brothers as a client, or is trolling to get them.
It is warming, we should be warming as the cycles show, but we are warming faster then we should be. All that said lets remember that if you want funding from the US Government and Congress right now you HAVE to say Global Warming, or your funds get cut off. Human Accelerated Climate Change is real but Global Warming is a fear tool and a dang good money maker. Global Warming is great because you get to point fingers, if we got off our duffs and taught Sustainability and took personal responsibility in our lives and at our jobs we would negate the worst of whats to come.
Like the pentagon or a government agency has never been wrong before...
What planet are the scientists on whose scientific data apparently recorded the planet as warming. Have they looked outside I believe that the northern hemisphere has just gone through one of its coldest winters on record.
Meterologists also said that last winter was suppose to be mild one. Try telling that to the families in London who lost a loved one due to freezing temperatures. Or those who have perhaps gotten an exceptionally large energy bill this winter.
I'd rather listen to what the earth is actually saying not scientific data which contradicts what is actually going on in nature. It feels more like a global cooling not a global warming. Yes their is a climate change going on but its not warming that's for sure.
