The Shattered Glass Project (Used with permission)
Shattered Glass is a modern fairy (urban fae) short story by Jess Hartley. The story actually has not been written yet, and that's where you, the readers, come in. At the beginning of the project, Jess was accepting patronage, not only to support her work, but to allowing her readers to be a part of the story. However, as of Monday, March 22, 2010, the Personae Patronage level has been closed due to the number of individuals interested in becoming part of Shattered Glass as a character. Other levels are available for a small fee: the Virtual Patronage for $5.00 (Virtual Patrons will receive a .pdf of Shattered Glass) and the Artisan for $25.00 (Artisan Patrons will receive the .pdf and a limited special edition copy (signed and numbered) of the story, along with a hand-signed letter of thanks from the author). Anyone interested in becoming a patron can go to Jess Harley's website, and click on the Shattered Glass Project on the Main Menu. Go to the bottom of the page and click on the Contibute button. Patronage closes the first day of Summer, so if you're interested in Shattered Glass, time is running out. One of the novels things about this project, is that only the patrons will have access to Ms. Hartley's story at the end of the writing year next summer.

The Shattered Glass Project
This Examiner had a delightful conversation with Ms. Hartley a few weeks ago.Her energy and excitement over this project are infectious. This project is exciting: self-publishers, who are a very creative lot in themselves, are beginning to break out of the traditional book and story mold to engineer new and different ways of marketing their stories and abilities. The Shattered Glass Project promises a lot of fun for those already involved as a Patron, and makes those of us who are not, want to be.
