Nacogdoches, TX clerk uses handgun to fend off armed and violent criminal

A hardware store clerk in Nacogdoches, Texas used his handgun to fend off a knife wielding criminal.

Police say that a man in the Cason-Monk Hardware store on the 300 block of Commerce St became upset and was asked to leave.  The man reportedly left, only to return armed with a knife, which he used to threaten the life of a store clerk.  The clerk is said to have grabbed a handgun, causing man to flee.  The clerk, who didn't have to fire a shot, was unharmed.  Police are seeking the suspect, who was described only as a Caucasian male in his 40's, with a beard.

I would note that this is yet another example of guns being used for self defense, without a shot even being fired.  Anti gun statistics don’t count such uses, despite the fact that the majority of the 2.5 million defensive gun uses each year don’t result in the gun being fired at all.

I would love to have seen the perps face when he had to look down the bore of that handgun. Nicotine stains in his drawers. Ring around the rectum. Within 15 feet it would have been considered self-defense should burnt gunpowder wafted on the gentle breezes. Never bring a knife to a gun fight.
