A business owner reportedly used his handgun in self defense against an early-morning commercial burglar.
Police say that two burglars broke in to a business that is located on the 200 block of East Avenue K-8 in Lancaster, CA, around 3:30 AM. Acting in self defense against the intruders who confronted him, the business owner is said to have fired his gun, striking at least one of the burglars and ending the attack. One suspect was able to flee, while the other suspect, reportedly identified as 28 year old Robert Summers, died from his wounds, according to news reports. No injuries to the business owner were reported.
Once again, a law abiding citizen has used a firearm to defend themselves. Had this man not been armed, he could have ended up injured or killed in his own place of business. Luckily, he was armed, and as a result didn’t suffer at the hands of a burglar. Simply put, armed self defense works.
