An armed robber was reportedly shot in self defense by his would-be victim
Police say that a man was in a parked car, on the 5400 block of Riverview Blvd in St. Louis, MO just after 10 PM when a robber drove up, got out of his own vehicle, approached the parked car on foot, and brandished a handgun. The victim reportedly drew his own gun and fired in self defense, striking the robber in the arms and chest, and ending the attack. The robber is said to have fled a short distance through an alley, before collapsing in front of a home. Police arrived to find a suspect, who was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in serious but stable condition, according to news reports.
As we’ve seen in the USA as well as other countries, armed self defense works. It enables law abiding people to defend themselves against armed, and/or physically stronger, attackers.
Gun control, on the other hand, fails to disarm criminals. Instead, it only ensures that crime victims are defenseless against the gun-toting criminals. Indeed, even when criminals are unarmed, they tend to still be capable of killing or seriously harming their victims, since violent criminals tend to be young males who are among the strongest members of society.

The logic of your article cannot be refuted, alas, Social Progressives are without the brains to understand even a simple concept such as this: ban guns and only the bad guys and the cops will have them.

If it weren't so pitiful and indicative of weak mindedness among our anti-gun community, it might possibly be amusing to hear their thoughts concerning these differential physical capabilities. I'm weak and profoundly crippled and have had obliviants ask me why an 82-year-old cripple needs to carry a concealed handgun. My old Colt Equalizer is now an S&W Equalizer and the principle is the same: Bring on the biggest, baddest, meanest mutha in the valley and we'll discuss matters on an equal basis.
What was the person doing sitting in his car at 10;00 PM? Did the person doing the shooting try to escape? Warn? Though I am 100% in favor of CC, I do wish the article supplied more details.
Liberals, and even most others, seem ever ready to forget that most people don't get to "chose" their mugger, robber, or rapist -- the criminal does the choosing.
If you are a big guy, the criminal comes armed or with friends. If they criminal can't come armed or with friends he chooses victims that appear weaker, distracted, older, disabled, female, encumbered, etc. -- and uses surprise, trickery, guile, ambush, social engineering, violence etc to further weight the odds in his favor.
Criminals almost never 'play fair' -- if they do, they don't remain free and healthy very long. They end up in jail, injured, or dead.
Oh, and as long as the guy in the car was doing nothing illegal, it doesn't matter what he was doing in his car at 10PM -- or any other hour of the day.
And no, when threatened by an ARMED criminal there is practically never a reason to warn.
Just STOP THE THREAT -- whatever that takes.
