Heather Hardy is professional musician from Tucson, Arizona. Her blues violin and fantastic vocals have landed "Little Mama" in the Arizona Hall of Fame after a lifetime in music. Second Life® is lucky to have her grace an occasional stage on the grid.
Due to the continued efforts of Tony Uribe (Tone Uriza in Second Life®) to produce mixed reality events that bring real world performances into Second Life® in both audio and video streaming, patrons of the virtual Boondocks were able to enjoy a live performance of this great artist. As Heather and her band performed live at the Boondocks in Tucson, people from all over the world were able to enjoy the performance in the replica of the venue that Tony created in Second Life®, right down to the pictures on the walls. Tony, also an Arizona Blues Hall of Fame member, joined Heather on stage for a number.
Heather delivered an energizing set and with the addition of a video feed of the live event, people watching virtually commented that they felt as though they were actually attending the event. Although Heather only enters Second Life® when performing in a mixed reality event, she has an avatar than looks much as she does in real life and performs with a violin on the virtual stage.
Tony often performs as a solo artist or with his drummer, Marx Loeb (Speelo Snook in Second Life®) in clubs across the grid and actively pulls his fellow musicians into mixed reality events. He has often performed with his band, The Torpedoes, and Heather has performed with them on occasion.
