Tomorrow, October 9, 2009, is the unveiling of Yoko Ono's Imagine Peace Tower in Second Life, and the first day of the Imagine Festival in Second Life.
Every year, Yoko Ono visits Reykjavik, Iceland to light the Imagine Peace Tower there in honor of John Lennon's birthday. This year, she will also open the new Imagine Peace Tower in Second Life.
Most of the Imagine Festival site - not officially affiliated with Yoko Ono - is still literally under wraps, covered by white boxes labeled "Under Construction", but you can get some glimpses of the site and of what's hidden inside the boxes in this picture and in the slide show below.
The Imagine Festival site, located 999 meters above ground level in the Four Bridges North sim, contains an ever shifting array of animated figures and lights created by AuraKyo Insoo and artists including Alizarin Goldflake, Apollo Reinard, Artistide Despres, Bryn Oh, Cogito Ultch, Eshi Otawara, Gary Kohime, Glyph Graves, Misprint Thursday, Rob Balder, Sabrinaa Nightfire, Sene Kappler, Spiral Walcher, and UB Yifu.
The schedule for tomorrow's Imagine Festival events is at imaginefestival.wordpress.com. Even if you can't attend the official events, be sure to visit the site while it's open. The slide show below this article will give you an idea of what to expect. You can get information about Yoko Ono's IMAGINE Peace Tower and IMAGINE Peace Tower Island at www.IMAGINEPEACE.com.

Yoko Ono will attend the opening of her island in Second Life called "IMAGINE PEACE TOWER" at sunset around 11.30am SLT on 9th October. It is an accurate recreation of the real IMAGINE PEACE TOWER on Videy Island near Reykjavik, Iceland. The tower still under wraps at Four Bridges is NOT connected to Yoko Ono. B->
Correct details of Yoko Ono's official IMAGINE PEACE TOWER and IMAGINE PEACE ISLAND are on the www.IMAGINEPEACE.com website, including photos, text and its location.
IMAGINE PEACE TOWER ISLAND is the only part of Second Life officially endorsed by Yoko Ono and the Lennon family estate.
Although Yoko Ono is not an organiser or affiliated with the IMAGINE festival in Second Life, she is a supporter of all non-violent activities that promote PEACE.
