Today, Scream Franchise Examiner has the latest news from the set of Scream 4…
As expected, filming began in the Kellogg Park area of Plymouth, MI yesterday. Before The Trailer obtained exclusive on-set photos which feature David Arquette, Hayden Panettiere, Marielle Jaffe, and director Wes Craven, among others. Additionally, one picture snapped of the newly constructed Woodsboro Police Department (an exterior façade) captured a large Ghost Face prop out front, raised as if it was a flag.
Fox News Detroit was on-scene, and a report from the set can be seen here.
Filming is expected to resume tomorrow.
Arquette was back on-set after a weekend jaunt to ENC New York, where he attended a fashion trade show. His tweets from the Big Apple caused online fan speculation that his character, Sheriff Dewey, had met his maker, meaning that his well publicized return to “Woodsboro” caused sighs of relief. Arquette posted his own photo (via Twitter) taken with Craven, with the caption, The genius Wes Craven.
Speaking of Craven, the director now has a date other than April 15, 2011 (Scream 4’s release) to remember. As reported yesterday by the Ann Arbor Journal (Heritage Newspapers), Craven is scheduled to appear at the 15th District Court in downtown Ann Arbor on July 26 for a traffic infraction. He was stopped on July 10 for failure to use a signal. Craven himself tweeted the following after his run-in with the law: Got a ticket. Didn't signal before turning. Just a warning would've been nice. First moving violation in years. Thank you Ann Arbor police.
Meanwhile, MTV News caught up with newcomer Hayden Panettiere over the weekend. The actress, who plays Kirby, described her character as, “edgy, sassy, and smart...She’s…very strong…” Panettiere called Scream 4 “the perfect set-up,” and continued, “I think they’ve done a really cool job with the script.” (This statement would tend to refute speculation that the she was unhappy with changes made to her character during re-writes.) You can see more, including a video of the interview, here.
For an audience that is so well-versed in 'Scream' and in what happens and who becomes the killer, blah, blah, blah, it's trickier to throw them a curveball…I think they've done a really cool job with the script. We've had a blast on it – Hayden Panettiere
In other news, OfficialNeve, which purports to be Neve Campbell’s Twitter account, posted the following yesterday: Thank you all for the support & comments! almost forgot about twitter! your messages are appreciated & don't go unread!
