Today, Scream Franchise Examiner has brief news re. Scream 4. Also, an update on the R.J. Torbert/Fun World interview and an exclusive Q&A with Tim Wagstaff of Ghostface.co.uk

Last night, Alison Brie took to Twitter to announce the following: Just landed back in MI for more Scream 4. After surviving my driver's gas on the way to the airport the flight was a breeze! #grosspun. (For those interested, you can see a picture of her rental car here.) Brie will play alongside Neve Campbell as an “ambitious personal assistant who secretly envies her boss' reluctant fame and fortune.” This marks her return to the set after several weeks away to film scenes for the upcoming season of her TV show, Community.

Also, SFE’s recent interview with R.J.Torbert has received overwhelming response and attention. Many of you have messaged Torbert on Twitter and sent notes to Fun World asking for follow up information regarding the "birth" of Ghost Face®, as well as clarification on other topics including the company’s involvement with Scary Movie.

Torbert has advised us that, due to time constraints and work responsibilities, answering all of these questions is not possible at this time. However, he wants readers to know that he has granted Scream Franchise Examiner a follow-up interview in February (prior to the film’s April release) to answer additional inquiries. Please submit your questions to Scream Franchise Examiner at OyeJohn52@aol.com. Fun World will also keep a list.

Fun World appreciates the fans of Scream and Ghost Face® and will do everything possible to answer as many questions as possible at that time. As many of you know, Torbert does reply to inquiries from fans and fellow tweeters as able, and even offers cryptic messages for those who enjoy puzzles…

Now, I am happy to present an interview with Tim Wagstaff.

The webmaster of Ghostface.co.uk, Tim lives in Nottingham in the UK. Ever since being a kid, he has had an interest in films and how to make them, and, over the years, has gradually learned how to use video editing software from Windows Movie Maker to Adobe Premiere Pro. In that time, Tim created five Scream/Ghost Face-based fan films with his friends, which have been highly viewed on YouTube. He aims to make another in the near future, this one with a bit more seriousness to it. Tim works in a warehouse where laptops are repaired, though his ideal job would be to work in the film industry. Currently, his main focus and interest is the Scream films and keeping fans up to date through his web-site.

1) What is the origin of Ghostface.co.uk? How has the site evolved over time and what is your vision for the future?

Ghostface.co.uk started as a Proboards forum back in late November 2006 (27 Nov, 2006, 9:53pm GMT to be exact!).

At that time one of my friends had started a site and forum. I liked the idea and thought of a topic I would want a site in. This was immediate to me for being a "Ghostface-based" site because among my friends it is well known that I'm never too far from a Scream costume, as they know I am a big fan of the films, very big. At the time I didn't know any web design and had my friend register the domain name and forward it to the forum. With this I started to learn Dreamweaver and Photoshop. Over this time I had been editing old footage of filming me and my friends did often which we called simply "Scream filming" or "Filming" later on. This would involve myself and friends doing various random scenes involving the Ghost Face® Killer. The collection of clips still to this day extends over hours and hours of footage; some of this was put online on YouTube as "Arnold Scream," with our place where we lived being Arnold in Nottingham, UK. Over the next few months the site grew a few pages and had our info on our filming and some clips added and obviously the Scream trilogy info was added too. As I look back now I think how inexperienced I was and how did people keep returning to the site!? Since then I kept the site updated with new fresh looks almost every month as I didn't want what Scream fan audience there was getting bored with my site. Scream 4 rumors would pop up now and again and generate some interest; then in 2008 finally it was announced as on the way. Since the announcement there has been a lot of interest and people asking questions on what I would know. I owe alot to two people. Scream-Movie.Net owner Charles Petrosky, as it was his site I saw first based on Scream that inspired me to start Ghostface.co.uk. I also noticed early into my website’s creation another old site revive itself which was Scream-Thrillogy.com, and owner Nick Meece, like Charles, advised and helped me put up certain information concerning the Ghost Face® mask, amongst other things.

My vision for the future of Ghostface.co.uk is to continue what I have been doing, providing news and information for all past, present and future Scream fans. I would like it if it can continue that way for a long time as Scream and Ghost Face® are a part of my life that I very much enjoy. And what better way to keep an interest into it with having a website to keep going? I also intend on doing one more Fan Film with Ghost Face® but at this time I need to sort a lot of things out on it before anything gets started. I just hope Scream 4 is good enough to spark the 5th and 6th films so I have lots more new info in the future to provide. After the films complete I will continue to keep the site online as long the stats say people are still coming.

2) You are a "spoiler free" site. Have you received (or discovered) a scoop that you will not run? If so, how difficult is it to contain such information--and do you think that being in possession of such knowledge will damper the excitement of the moviegoing experience for you?

Thankfully I don't get too many e-mails or info sent to myself on the site regarding spoilers, which is good because I don't want to know everything. However, if something is seen online that I think is possibly revealing more than normal I’ll steer clear of reading the full article as I don't want the future Scream 4 ruined completely for me. I want some surprises and, of course, the main mystery that Scream films provide on the first viewing. If I came across something that could be a major big spoiler then of course I would advise via my site that it is to be kept clear of. If anything came up that may stop or delay the filming of Scream 4 then I would alert anyone I could to steer clear and inform whoever I could on it, for example Wes on Twitter or Kevin. I don't have a direct line to these people or the studio so my efforts may not work sadly. But even as a News/info/Fansite, I don't always want to see EVERY SINGLE picture captured on set. There are some stories or articles I see on sites that I don't always run on mine. Simply because I have waited 10 years for Scream 4, as have the other fans. Who am I to ruin it for them? I want a nice new fresh Scream 4 movie to view like everyone else too.

3) Are you aware of anybody involved with the films monitoring your site and/or have you received official feedback? If so, are you at liberty to share details?

As far as I know there aren't any studio, crew or Weinstein related viewers to my site; if so then they do keep deadly quiet. I always think if there was a problem or query from ANYONE then they would use my "Contact" link and inform me of the problem/info that there may or may have been with whatever it was. On another note I'm glad to say I heard from R.J. Torbert regarding the site and there were just a couple of very small issues he mentioned because my info on the very bottom of the site was in small text; this has now been sorted out as users will see from the copyright text on each page at the top and on the new banner. He also said that he could see I am a passionate fan and that he's glad that the site has been done properly. R.J. is a very nice chap and I had an email saying "Keep up the good work" which I find encouraging and rewarding because most of my spare time is on the Scream/Ghost Face® topic. I'm glad Fun World sees what their mask and the Scream films mean to me, as I'm sure they see it back with my site being here.

4) SCREAM 4 is currently in production, which means that you are working overtime. Take us through a typical day--where does your information come from, how do you keep up with it, and what is required of you to get it out there to the world before it becomes old news?

At this time I have some very stupid and nasty shifts at work so half the time I miss revealing anything I find or see first. I work one shift which is 10:30am until 10.00pm which just ruins the day for news and site updates; the other shift is 8:00am until 7:30pm which does just the same. I am on a "4 on , 4 off " rotation at this time; the 4 days off are very much valued and that's when the site gets more attention. But even so with the later finish the first thing I do when getting home and back in is to turn on the PC and see what's new out there. If I'm up until early hours then I don't care, as long as the site isn't too far behind the news. Most of my news is from the general internet; as I said earlier I don't get lots of e-mails with news relating to it. I see what's around on various sites and news headlines; some of the time I head on my forum and see what's what with the users there. Normally there is the odd topic that I see and realize something has been revealed on a more reliable and trustworthy site as being a rumor or fake info of some sort. I take more time now on the main articles because if everything I saw was put on the site as a main headline then the reputation for Ghostface.co.uk would dissolve fast. A headline in recent months was that Jennifer Aniston was being put in a "Casey Becker" type role as a favor to Courteney. This is a good example of how things can stupidly escalate. Sure it’s a good headline that would stir excitement among fans to some extent but even if true it would have been a major spoiler, therefore getting the film a delay and having script changes, like Scream 2 did. I like to see what's out there and put just what is necessary online for fans to read. Recently I saw a set picture which I didn't really want to see and I think it may spoil some small aspects of the film when a certain scene or location comes up. But thankfully the filming is finishing soon so these will die off soon. Be careful out there what you are looking at Scream fans. Proceed with some caution, as if Ghost Face® is around the corner waiting for you! Normally though if it’s a genuine thing like a Tweet off Kevin or Wes or if one of them is linking to an article I have it online minutes after seeing it.

5) Speaking strictly as a fan, what is your greatest hope for SCREAM 4? Your biggest worry?

My biggest hope for Scream 4 is that it doesn't have Scream 3's flaws. While the actors and actresses did a good job the writing wasn't as good and didn't have the "Scream magic" that 1 and 2 did. With all the set pictures and Kevin and Wes's Tweets regarding the script I think we will be in for a good ride. I have waited ever since the end of Scream 3 for this, when that creaky door slowly opened (sure we knew it was all clear for Sid, but I always thought there could be more screen time for Ghost Face® somehow one day). I would love a good chase scene or two like with Gale's chase in Scream 2 or Sid's chase and fighting in 2 and 3, and even one of Dewey's rants/speeches with his score track in the background. (Originally used in "Broken Arrow" by Hans Zimmer). I also hope for alot of blood and gore like the start of the first film with Steven Orth getting gutted. I also pray that one of the main three aren't killed off, but with Scream 2 we got an unexpected death with Randy which ultimately ticked me off, but that's the mystery of Scream. I just hope if one or two of the main cast from the first trilogy is killed then it’s not just with one knife stab or swipe. Imagine all that fighting and surviving just to be killed off in minutes or seconds of Scream 4! But with saying that, I'm sure Wes and Kevin wouldn't want that. I really hope Scream 4 is a smash for us fans and hope that there is enough interest and even a box office record smash success to make Scream 5 and 6 come. With Scream 3 lacking some of the original magic as I said it still did well in theatres. People still bought it on video and DVD and even for some other fans it is their favourite out the three. So Scream 4 in theory should do exceptionally well, especially with its new cast additions and the fact that Kevin has written it and that Wes is back again because many thought he wouldn't do it for a long time. Myself included. Same with Kevin, for that matter, as it was said that Kevin was more interested in another trilogy rather than just a fourth film. I eagerly await the fourth film, though, and will be there in my Ghost Face® costume whenever it opens in the UK.
