Science pub - Adventures in Forensic Anthropology

What happens when human bones are found in the woods? How are bodies identified and how does DNA evidence help us bring closure to missing person cases? If you are a fan of CSI or other such forensic investigations and find yourself near Bagdad theater tonight (January 9th) around 7pm check out Dr. Veronica Vance's talk entitled 'I dig bones: Adventures in Forensic Anthropology.' Vance is a from the Oregon State Police Forensic Laboratory and the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office.

Vance has been a forensic scientist, crime scene analyst and anthropologist for 15 years now and has a whole host of experiences to draw upon when talking on topics of the forensic world. This is part of OMSI's Science Pub series that occurs twice each month and is open to people 21 and over and minors only with an adult. Doors open at 5pm and seats fill up quickly so be sure to get there early to enjoy some food and drink and ensure you get a seat.
