Sometimes you read a story that's just so astoundingly absurd, all you can say is "wow." This was one of those for me.
It seems that there was a bit of hubbub last month over the band t-shirt (shown here) that the marching band of Smith-Cotton high school in Sedalia, MO wore at the Missouri State Fair parade. After some parents complained, the area school assistant superintendent, Brad Pollitt, took it upon himself to demand that all student hand the shirts over to him.
The t-shirts did not violate any dress code, but it seems, according to one report, that Pollitt took it upon himself to decide that the t-shirts were inappropriate because, get this, "the district is required by law to remain neutral where religion is concerned."
Now, the logical question to ask at this point is, "what does this t-shirt have to do with religion?" The correct answer is, "absolutely nothing." What is alarming is that these are the people who are running our public schools - people who don't know the difference between science and religion.
What further presses the point that our children's education is in the hands of people who seem to lack basic common sense is a comment made by a parent/teacher in the Sedalia area school district, Sherry Melby. According to the report that appeared on the Sedalia Democrat Web site, Melby said, "I was disappointed with the image on the shirt. I don’t think evolution should be associated with our school."
Are you kidding me? I sincerely hope this woman is not a science teacher and that she is not on any school boards.
There is some good news in all of this. The shop that originally made the t-shirts for the school, Main Street Logo, owns the rights to the design. They have had several requests for the shirt and have had a difficult time keeping up with the demand. If you would like to have a shirt, you can get one, too, by contacting the shop at mainstreet@sedaliamissouri.com. You can also visit them on Facebook.

You are wrong. You don't know the difference between science and religion!
The theory of evolution has become a religion. Scientists who dare to believe in an Intelligent Designer are pressured by their colleagues(members of the church of Darwinian Evolution) to abandon such a belief. They are threatened with the loss of a job if they dare to teach Intelligent Design. Real scientists who have seen serious errors in Darwins theory, researched it, and realized he was WAY off base, are being discriminated against by the majority of scientists in the world who are too afraid to really face the facts, and BE OBJECTIVE!
The superintendent did the right thing. The theory that we evolved from apes is insulting anyway.
Your article was one of those that I read and just had to say, "Yet another robot emerging from the joke of a public school system....."
Do some brain exercises, and research before you write your next article!
CZ: Evolution is a scientific theory. It is not a religion. It is a theory that some religious groups disagree with. Some folks even get enraged by it. Likewise, some people who believe the theory of evolution get enraged by religious beliefs. Both sides could agree to disagree and leave the mud-slinging (or worse) behind. What do you think? Doesn't it feel yucky to attack other people?
I saw this on a blog friend of mine. Wow, it is pretty bad when someone can't post their own opinion and article on their own site and not get attacked so vicously by ..apes like CZ..:)
Good job!
Fogot..aren't you so impressed with the religous kindness and sincerity of CZ?? Not!
Got something to say?
