Adrianne Palicki, Sam Winchester’s (Jared Padalecki) ill-fated girlfriend Jessica will return to reprise her role this season on Supernatural. Jessica, who was killed by a demon in the Supernatural pilot episode, returned at the end of Season 2 when Dean was on his Genie-granting alternate reality trip. Then Jessica again disappeared into the void.
Well fans, she’s back! Details are very secret and guarded, but she is back for at least one episode in the upcoming season (just not the premiere episode).
Considering Azazel's revelation in last season's finale that he wanted Sam and his powers to kill Lilith in order to free Lucifer, could Jennifer's death have been part of the plan to set Sam in motion? If so, her role could be more important than first thought.

We already know that her death was part of Azazels plan. the YED admited it in the season one finale. he said he killed Jess to get Sam back into hunting, to perfect his skills and prepare him for the War.
