In 2004, Rob Thomas spear headed a new drama for the close-to-failing UPN Network. Named after the lead charcater, Veronica Mars was a modern-day Nancy Drew following up on campus crimes with the help of her PI father. The critics loved the show and it developed a loyal fan following, due mostly to the charm of Kristen Bell who played the title roll.
Bell managed to find that perfect place between female empowerment and vulnerable. She was smart and she knew how to take care of herself but never in a super hero kind of way. She was relatable, as were the people around her.
Veronica Mars made the jump to The CW when UPN and The WB merged, but it was a short lived victory. Ever since the show's cancelation in 2007, the fans have been looking for away to bring Veronica back. While a new show is unlikely, a movie is a real possibility and that's where Neptune Rising comes in. This group of fans is dedicated to keeping this new hope alive.
Though the site hasn't been updated in the past month, the group is has a new Twitter and it's rapidly gaining a following.
Bringing a fan favorite back as a movie, even a direct to DVD movie is a great option for studios that want to capitlize on the buzz without investing in a series. And due to the mystery nature of this series, a movie would be easy to craft and follow up on, should the film become a success.

they have just started showing the 1st season again the UK --- and OMG a film would be ace!!!
Just make a movie already Warner Bros! It wouldn't cost much to make so it would easily make its money back. Do it for the fans! I know it's odd, but a show ending has never left me with as much of a void as this one has. I can't get over it. I have turned so many people on to it after it ended through the DVD's and believe it or not, the fanbase has definitely grown. Kristen Bell is much more popular than she used to be, and if a movie were to be released a lot of people who didn't see the show will likely feel compelled to check it out before the movie comes out. WB has nothing to lose. It will at least make the money back that they spend so I really don't understand, with all of this support, why they don't just greenlight a movie. I have friends who ask me all of the time if there is any new news on the movie. I hate telling them that it's unlikely. This was a beloved show that was over before its time. At the very least do a TV movie or Direct-to-DVD one.
Veronica Mars is perhaps the only character I have become genuinely obsessed with - I use quotations from the show in conversations on an almost-daily basis. She's the only realistic character available for television-viewers, and even then there are only repeats available since the show was dropped.
People WOULD see this film - I've converted people who've never seen a picture of Veronica and people who barely knew it existed into fully-fledged fans. A Veronica Mars movie would appeal to all ages, both genders, and bring back the faith that has been lost in WB through all the Harry Potter films (I'm not the only one who loathes Harry with a passion, and that kind of hatred is detrimental to the success of Warner Bros.).
Everyone, we need your help to convince Warner Bros!
