Sarasota Millionaires sign Pettibone, "Pick 6" Allen to contracts at Ringling Museum

(Sarasota, FL) Steve Pettibone and Rosson “Pick 6” Allen signed player contracts for the upcoming season for the Sarasota Millionaires football club today. Afterwards, Pettibone, Allen, owners Calvin and Bethsaida Williams and Hall of Fame Coach John Mackler visited Ringling Museum of Art and Circus in Sarasota for a photo session as part of the team’s promotion of its home town.

Pettibone, an offensive lineman and center, is entering his second year with the Millionaires. Allen, a defensive back who picked off seven passes last season, will be starting his third campaign with the team. Both players were voted to the Florida Football Alliance (FFA) All-Star team in 2010.

The Ringling Museum of Art is one of Sarasota’s most popular tourist attractions. It is the legacy of circus entrepreneur, art collector and financier John Ringling and his wife Mable.

When Ringling died in 1936, he left his art collection and estate to the people of Florida. In 2000, the State of Florida transferred stewardship of the Ringling Museum to Florida State University and established the 66-acre Ringling Estate as one of the largest museum/university complexes in the United States.

The Ringling Museum is located at 5401 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota, FL 34243. For more information visit www.ringling.org.

The Millionaires are planning more contract signing ceremonies at various locations throughout Sarasota as it prepares for the upcoming fall combine and tryouts in September.

Interviews with Steve Pettibone and Rosson “Pick 6” Allen are posted below.
