Sarah Palin is taking a Thanksgiving break from her Going Rogue book tour to spend time with family members in Washington. Moments after arriving by private jet Wednesday evening from Orlando, Fla., she told reporters, "It's kind of surreal. But it's really good to be back in the Tri-Cities to reconnect with the roots."
But it seems impossible these days for Palin to go somewhere without causing a stir and Palin did just that as she donned her running gear on Thursday to participate in the Red Cross Turkey Trot in Kennewick's Columbia Park. No, Palin was not wearing her infamous red shirt and black shorts from the controversial Newsweek cover. Palin joined 3,000 others at the 5-kilometer run, sporting an orange shirt that read 'Alaskan Grown.'
Heather Filbin with the Benton-Franklin Chapter of the American Red Cross said Wednesday that about 25 Palin relatives had registered for the annual Turkey Trot at Kennewick's Columbia Park.
Palin attracted a mass of onlookers, cheering and clapping, and waving their cell phones and cameras in the air.
"We'll be in the back," Palin said as she pushed a double jogger stroller.
Tri-cityHerald.com reports that Palin didn't finish the race, opting to leave the course early to avoid more crowds at the end. About 40 minutes into the run, word started trickling out to people gathered at the finish line that she was gone.
Executive Director Jeanne Jelke wasn't sure if Palin's presence drew more runners and walkers or just onlookers, but was thankful for the national publicity.
Following the race, Palin had dinner at the Richland home of her aunt, Katie Johnson. On Sunday, Palin will resume her nationally publicized book tour, signing copies of Going Rogue at noon at the Hastings bookstore at 1425 George Washington Way in Richland.

Going Rogue has sold over 700,000 as of one week ago, I'll bet it is well over 1 million by now. Huge book sales, huge crowds at her book signing events, a bigger then usual crowd at the Turkey Trot, and a record amount of money raised for the Red Cross, makes me wonder if all these polls the MSM keeps coming up with showing that Palin's favorable rating is pretty low, are real or just part of the democrat psychological warfare. I suspect the latter. operation.
Sarah Palin grandmother and a mother of two infants. What a trashy look for an American politician! She is one trailer park trash cleaning hump.
Apparently Palin never finishes anything she starts and always has an excuse for why not. Keep that in mind when she starts making promises on her It's All About Me Mystery Tour to the White House.
Rudy Rocco.......and Really a Rogue..........let's put your lives under a microscope and see how squeeky clean you are. I can't wait to take a look in your closets on the international stage!........and as long as we are there, lets look at your accomplishments as well.....this is going to be great!

Around 1 million or so Fox watching, gullible morons left in America went out and bought the book. There are 300 million people in this country. So the percentage of the population that bought the book is about .33%.
Perhaps is the other 99.67% who can't stand her dumb, look at my butt act.
It seems many ugly women and homosexuals are most against the lovely lady from Wasilla. Don't you agree, andrew?
Hey look, it's more lies and libel from Palin-haters.
It's funny how utterly predictable it is to find leftists spewing hatred, bigotry, and mis-information at the end on each Palin story online.
If she is what you liberals say she is, then why do you bother?
You expose yourselves for who YOU are, not her.
With all due respect to Mrs Palin, she IS a milf! Her family and her Hubby are lucky people.
I wish all these Palin haters would have to post pictures of themselves with their comments but of course we all can make an educated guess on what they would look like UGHHHHHHHH!!!!!
My family arrived here in 1690, does that sound like "trailer trash" Rudy? BTW, there's nothing wrong with living in a manufactured home, as many good Americans do! I will raise $2 million dollars for Governor Sarah Palin if she runs in 2012, and I'm not the only one, I assure you! The Obots and RINOs have a lot to fear in Sarah!
Can you imagine if Palin shared Hillary's political views she would be the darling of the Lamestream Media, fortunately she's one of us commoners and the so-called elite can't stand it. A fertile mother of 5, successful self-made go-getter, conservative with traditional values, and beautiful on top of that. Palin embodies everything these twisted destructive freaks despise, and I'm loving it.
"It seems many ugly women and homosexuals are most against the lovely lady from Wasilla" - Obamasux
soooooo what are you? Ugly woman, a homosexual or an ugly homosexual?
I'm gay and I support Sarah Palin. Many gays are conservative.
Conservative goes beyond male/female issues, sexual orientation, race, or creed. It is a belief in small government, and individual freedom.
You are responsible for yourself and your family. Government takes care of Federal issues such as protecting the Constitution, along with our freedoms and rights, and waging war against enemies.
I doubt there is a Conservative today, gay or not, who does not think that this current Administration is destroying the Constitution and our freedoms.
Well, well. Looks like history does in fact repeat itself. First she quit Alaska half-way through. Now she quits a simple race because the heat at the end was too much to bear. Good thing she isn't President or she would have quit after the first week.
These comments are hilarious! I doesn't matter what Sarah Palin does (or doesn't do), her adoring fans will be forever excusing her behavior and helping her point the finger at the Big, Bad, (you fill in the blank). Her book is undeniably a best seller, however, that doesn't mean it's worth the money or the read. Doesn't mean it's true, doesn't make her a great author. She's a best seller because the book sold well. I wonder how much money it's really taking in, especially when you can buy it for $4.95. I hear many organizations bought up cases of it too, to help bump sales figures. That happens a lot with this sort of thing, but you gotta wonder how many people really bought the thing for full price at a bookstore?
BTW - I'm not ugly, not gay, and not registered with a party. I've voted for republicans and for democrats and I would have voted for McCain had he chosen a real VP candidate.
Another jealous hater for whatever reason.
