Dany Heatley's second hat trick with the San Jose Sharks boosted them to a big 6-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.
Manny Malhotra, Patrick Marleau, Ryane Clowe, and of course Dany Heatley scored for the Sharks, while Claude Giroux netted two and Danny Briere scored one for the Flyers.
Joe Thornton recorded his 600th assist, making it look easy with his calm, patient demeanor.
The Flyers opened the scoring when Danny Briere's snap shot from Matt Carle went over Evgeni Nabokov's shoulder and into the top corner of the net.
The Sharks came right back, however, when Manny Malhotra shot the puck from the point, watched it ricochet off of two Flyers, and then find the back of the net during a power play.
San Jose took the lead less than a minute into the second when Joe Thornton waited until the last second to pass the puck to Heatley, who tipped it in.
Claude Giroux backhanded the puck past Nabby to tie the game at two halfway through the second. Malhotra accidentally jabbed the puck over the line while trying to clear it, but Giroux was credited with the goal.
The Sharks book-ended the period when Patrick Marleau's slap shot trickled past Ray Emery with only five seconds left in the period.
Then the Sharks blew it open in the third.
In a goal almost identical to his first, Dany Heatley scored shorthanded after tipping-in a pass from Thornton. Instead of shooting, Thornton waited almost too long before sending the puck through a defender and Emery to Heatley on the other side.
Claude Giroux notched his second goal of the night with a slap shot midway through the third to keep the Flyers in the game. However the Flyers' fans in the stands didn't have the chance to cheer for too long.
Three minutes later, Dany Heatley scored on the power play to complete his hat trick. Joe Thornton and Kent Huskins were credited with the assists. Heatley scored during even strength, on the power play, and while short handed to bring the hats onto the ice.
Ryane Clowe made it 6-3 with a wrist shot fifteen minutes into the third. The Flyers weren't able to come back from such a deficit, and the Sharks ended their two game losing slump.
