Let's take a quick look at a couple of news stories affecting the SGV this week.
An unusual headline from the AP: Bandits steal big rig on SoCal freeway. On Tuesday, three men hijacked a truck hauling energy-efficient light bulbs on the 605 in Whittier. The three men used two trucks to force the big rig to the side of the road and then left the driver tied up. I wonder how you unload a trailer full of light bulbs on the black market.
Some San Gabriel Valley projects earmarked in the $410-billion spending bill approved by the House and now before the Senate:

- $1.8 million to help construct a two-mile trench for trains to travel underneath roadway bridges in the San Gabriel Valley
