49ers 2010 NFL Draft order

Safety Eric Berry could be a great addition to the 49ers if the team decides to draft him in the first round.

Earlier I put up a list of my first round pick suggestions for the 49ers. Here is the order for the 49ers in this April's Draft.

1st Round/Pick #13
1st Round/Pick #16 or 17 (depending on coin flip in February) - pick from Carolina
2nd Round/Pick #17 (49th overall)
3rd Round/Pick #16 (79th overall)
4th Round/Pick #15 (Overall not determined yet due to compensatory picks)
5th Round/Pick #14 (Overall not determined yet due to compensatory picks)
6th Round/Pick #13 (Overall not determined yet due to compensatory picks)
7th Round/Pick #17 (Overall not determined yet due to compensatory picks)

The 49ers have a lot of options to go with in the Draft. Obviously their top priorities are to find offensive line help, secondary help and a decent punt returner.

Those three positions probably will be addressed in the first two or three rounds of the Draft. If the 49ers have not taken care of these needs through free agency in March, we should expect the 49ers to draft an offensive lineman with the first pick.

Their second pick in the first round could either go to a strong safety or a cornerback. The team struggled with containing big receivers on a consistent basis. And with strong safety Michael Lewis having suffered a concussion last year, the team might be looking for some insurance. Safety Eric Berry (pictured) is one of the top prospects in the secondary position. If the 49ers are fortunate to have him available, they should not hesitate to draft him.

With eight total picks, the 49ers are in a good position to trade some of them. I don't think they will package their first round picks for a higher pick. Right now, they are in a good position to grab two good players in that round.

49ers defensive end Ricky Jean-Francois is still waiting on word of the statuses of his grandmother and cousins in Haiti after a 7.0 earthquake hit the Port-au-Prince, the capital. Jean-Francois was born in Miami but his family has origins in Haiti.

Detroit Lions defensive end Cliff Avril and Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Pierre Garcon, both whom have family in Haiti, are awaiting for any news about immediate family members in the earthquake.

On Jean-Francois' Twitter account, he asked for any kind of help to Haiti. And right now, any kind of help that you can send to Haiti will do wonders. For more information on ways to help send relief to Haiti, visit this link.

Do you think there is any chance we might use one of the first round picks to take spiller from clemson?

It is possible, but there are so many other players that fit SF better at the moment that probably will be available.

you draft a tackle and then a guard and you give alex all day to throw and crabtree will run.

Spiller should be a fine pro but the 49ers have much bigger needs. So unless sing & company thinks he is heads & shoulders over what is available, I don't see it happening. This being a deep 1st round they should be able to get equal value at positions of bigger needs. Also I would love trading both first rounders for a Eric Berry pick and a 2nd or 3rd rounder. The next Mr. Lott.

I'm a hardcore niner fan and I would love cj spiller or Eric berry, but I just want my team to win so if our team has bigger needs we should first adress them.I'm just hoping this draft doesn't go to waste. -The 49ers from the bay been loving them since I was eight and I will never leave the red and gold even when I'm gray and old I just thoght that u should know cause our team has a fricken goal and that's to win the superbowl with gore running down their throats and Willis delivering the final blow once again the Vince lambordi is coming home for all the faithful to enjoy!
