The Arizona Roller Roller Derby's travel team, The Tent City Terrors, brought the heat to Salt Lake. Dressed in their pink uniforms, there were times when they didn't look to be a match for the Salt City Shakers, but their powerful jamming proved them to be a worthy opponent.
The Shakers looked in control during the first few jams. China White opens up the bout with a quick 5-points. Moonraker and NOS extended the lead to 16-0. It was looking good until AZRD's Deez Nutz got the opportunity for a power jam when Moonraker was sent to the penalty box. She scored 20 points to surge Tent City into the lead. NOS and Moonraker quickly answered back, regaining the lead 25-22 after the next couple of bouts. Unfortunately for the Shakers, the penalties began catching up with them and Tent City capitalized on the smaller defense to take a thirteen point lead. Shakers kept chipping away at the lead, eventually taking the lead back at 55-50 as the first half was winding down. However, Arizona's Robin Banks was able to score 9 points in the closing jam, giving Tent City a 55-59 lead.
In the first jam of the second half, NOS tied the score up 59-59. The Cleavers once again looked in control, extending their lead up to 26 points towards the end of the half. But Arizona got several fortunate power jams that they would capitalize on, regaining the lead 110-115 in the closing seconds of the bout. Robin Banks successfully gained lead jammer status in the last bout, and called it off to give Arizona the win.

In the second bout of the night, we had the two undefeated teams, Leave it to Cleavers and Death Dealers facing off. In the first few bouts, the Cleavers' Dirty Pirate Hooker, Muffin Splitter, and China White built a 27-4 lead. The Dealers battled back with very aggressive defense led by Etta Bull and Movin' Violation. Moonraker showed no signs of fatigue after being the lead scorer in the first bout, then leading the Dealers' scoring charge. At the end of the first half it is Shakers 43, Dealers 46.
The bout remained tight until Dirty Pirate Hooker suffered a skate malfunction, allowing Moonraker to go on an uncontested 15 point jam. Both teams continued to score, and both spent quite a bit of time in the penalty box, but the Cleavers could not catch up from the scoring deficit. In the closing minutes, Movin' Violation was ejected from the bout for too many penalties, but there wasn't enough time for the Cleavers to take advantage. China White led the Cleavers with 48 points, and Moonraker scored a big 61 points to lead the Dealers to extend their undefeated season.
