This weekend's Salt City Derby bout had all four home teams on the track and gave a preview of how this season could turn out. Sisters of No Mercy battled the 2008 & 2009 champions Leave it to Cleavers, and Death Dealers took on the Bomber Babes in the second bout.
In the first bout, Sisters of No Mercy wasted no time taking the lead, and maintained a narrow lead ending the half up 37-25. However, the Cleavers made a quick come-back in the second half, and after some lineup changes they surged into the lead 43-47. Sisters fought hard, but could not break the Cleavers winning streak, and the final score was Sisters: 63, Cleavers 85.
The second bout however, was never quite that close. Death Dealers were still filled with adrenaline from last month's pounding of the Sisters, and showed no mercy to the Bomber Babes. At five minutes into the bout the Dealers had already opened a 21-4 lead. Though NOS & Moto Redhead were able to put some big jams on the board for the Bombers, they simply could not keep up and ended the first half with Dealers leading 105-36. Sadly, the audience saw what was coming, and few stayed around to see the final score: 153-66 as Death Dealers took their second win of the season.
Next month (June 12) we have Foco Girls Gone Derby in town from Fort Collins, CO in the first bout, and Leave it to Cleavers will be fighting to extend their winning streak against the Bomber Babes in the second part of another double-header.
