In a recent article Northwest Travel Tips named its Top 10 Oregon Campground Locations.

Broggans Resort rated No. 8
The number 8 spot went to Broggans Resort just outside of Wallowa, a small community on Highway 82.

Located in the Grande Ronde River Basin, Wallowa is situated about 45 miles away from La Grande and about 40 miles west of the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area.

The resort offers 100 camping sites, tenting, laundry facilities, recreation room, river swimming, canoeing, fishing, playground, sports field, horseshoes, hiking trails, and volleyball. Give them a call: 541-828-7741.

Clyde Holliday State Recreation Area rated No. 9
The number 9 spot went to Clyde Holliday State Recreation Area, located 8 miles west of John Day, on U.S. Highway 26. Amenities include 31 electric/water camping sites (maximum site 60 feet) available on first-come, first-served basis, 2 tepees reservable from mid-April through September, RV dump station, hot showers, and flush toilets.

Clyde Holliday State Recreation Site is an oasis shaded by tall cottonwood trees along the sparkling John Day River.

John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is located approximately 35 miles west of Clyde Holliday off Oregon Highway 19. A visit to the John Day Fossil Beds is like taking a journey into ancient Oregon.

Whether you tour the museum at Sheep Rock, hike a trail at the Painted Hills, or picnic at Clarno, Oregon's exciting past will be revealed.

Valley of the Rogue State Park rated No. 10
The number 10 spot went to Valley of the Rogue State Park, located 12 miles east of Grants Pass.

Valley of the Rogue State Park with its three miles of shaded, green frontage on the scenic Rogue National Wild and Scenic River offers a pleasant destination for camping, boating, fishing, and enjoying nature.

Amenities include 88 full hookup sites with 50-amp electric service (23 pull-throughs), 59 sites with 50-amp electric service and water, 21 tent sites with water nearby, 6 yurts, 3 group tent camping areas, flush toilets and hot showers, laundry facilities, and RV dump station.
