New homes have granite counter tops, so why not new RVs? Upscale amenities have trickled down from motor homes to travel trailers. Now anyone can afford a condo-on-wheels.
Two years after the Ford Model T debut, the first recreational vehicles were built. And while creature comforts were few—a toilet was considered a luxurious touch—they offered the same thing today’s recreational vehicles offer: the chance to take a bit of home with you when you hit the road.
One hundred years later, the appeal is very much the same, even if the vehicles are much more comfortable.
The full array of RVs will be on display at the Calgary RV Expo, which opens Thursday and runs through Sunday.
The Calgary RV Expo & Sale, Western Canada's largest showing of recreation vehicles, services, and camping accessories, runs January 28 to 31 at the BMO Center Stampede Grounds. This year it will be better than ever!
Participants will find a greater selection of new RVs. The popular RV Lifestyles Theatre seminar program will be continued this year and include topics such as: RV towing vehicles and hitches; RV lifestyle tips; RV safety; customs information, RV insurance; and travel destinations.
An expanded presence of travel destinations will help people see what is available for RVers in Western Canada.
