Every holiday season, the painfully beautiful models of Victoria's Secret storm the runway in brilliant, over-embellished versions of the brand's upcoming lingerie pieces.  As an audience we are so captivated by the glamour and shine, temptation often leads us to run out and spend more on undergarments than we have on our entire wardrobe throughout the year.  We, too want to strut around an excessively large and flamboyant loft wearing a bra of diamonds and a fur robe.

For 2009, the brand did not fail to impress.  To end a year with an economy that should have been put on suicide watch, Victoria's Secret brings us fantasy and sparkle, making everything seem bright again.  As the Black Eyed Peas opened the show with their hit, "Boom Boom Pow", Angels appeared in futuristic holiday looks.  First on the runway, brazilian beauty Alessandra Ambrosio appeared in a hot pink push-up bra and matching panty.  Complete with matching thigh-highs, the look stunned with giant pink feathers that flowed seductively with her strut.  Soon to follow, Miranda Kerr appeared in a lacy push-up and panty, also in hot pink.  Her look was complemented with a giant metallic red bow at her back and sharp, futuristic suspenders of the same material.  Another look exploding with a sense of futuristic holiday appeared with Selita Ebanks rocking a metallic silver bra underneath a giant piece of gold garland, which looked as though it were plucked from some grand, heavenly Christmas tree.

Jumping back significantly in time, the theme soon morphs into "Old Hollywood", as we begin to see lace, fur and an abundance of diamonds.  After a few lacy pieces complemented with fur accessories and brilliant jewelry, Marissa Miller emerges wearing the famous diamond bra.  The 2009 version is a black push up covered in white, champagne and cognac colored diamonds.  The darker stones create a diamond pattern on the cups, which are trimmed with white diamonds.  From the center hangs a heart-shaped champagne diamond of a full 16 carats.  The $3,000,000 piece is worn with a mink stole in classic brown.  Following this lavish ensemble is an adorably designed fly-away trench coat in black, worn over a creme colored bustier with delicate lace cups.  This looks exudes glamour with a brilliant diamond necklace.

Switching themes again, we are dazzled by the PINK line.  As an introduction to the young, flirty spirit of this line, a model appears wearing white sweats with a logo of unbelievable sparkle.  The pants are worn with a cute polka-dot bra and a brightly colored flag which is attached at the back, complete with peace signs.  Another teen beauty emerges with a poofy black skirt in tulle, adorned with bright flower appliques.  Worn with sequined piece sign tank in silver and black, the look is complete with neon accessories.  A few more mixes of bold color and holiday sparkle strut by and this theme ends with a shot of the man himself, Jay-Z sitting in the front row.

After another club worthy performance from the Black Eyed Peas, we are privileged to enter the "Enchanted Forest".  Heidi Klum first emerges in a purple top adorned with leafy embellishment and poofs of white tulle creating her skirt.  A mesmerizing set soon follows as an aqua bra and panty set are worn with a woodland inspired torso cincher featuring delicate leafy details and purple fringe.  To top it off, this Angel wears an incredible pair of wings of white feather, dripping from the top with a shiny, metallic silver.  As this theme nears its end, a fairytale image of Red Riding Hood stomps seductively through the forest.  A gray plaid bustier and thong with a touch of red lace pulls us into the fantasy as we gaze upon the beautiful red capelet, complete with a draped hood and bow at the neck.  A long, structured skirt of gray and white completes the story.

The finale theme explodes with holiday sparkle and dazzles beyond belief.  As a choir of angelic voices flows over the runway, we begin to see pieces that scream with brilliant sparkle.  A blue-green bra explodes with gemstone embellished straps and intricate waist cincher.  Invoking the spirit of a snow princess, Selita is breathtaking in a sparkling open camisole adorned with white fur and a purple chiffon skirt.  Next we see Kylie, who was the winner of this year's model search whose stunning beauty is the perfect complement to the black bra and panty set, embellished with diamond-like rhinestones.  Lastly, I must mention the pale pink bra, dancing with sparkle that leads to white feather detail at the shoulders and is accented with a bow at the waist and a skirt of equal sparkle, which reveals a delicate pink panty.
