Experienced runners and newbies alike can benefit from a little motivation every now and again. Why not surround yourself with others who share your same passions and joys? The running scene all over San Diego is quite vibrant. No matter what part of the county you live in, there is a running group that wants to help you succeed in your sport.

Listed below are a few of the larger running clubs in San Diego, all of which seem to have the same goal in mind, to help improve your running. Most of these clubs have similar features such as training programs, group runs, club specific publications, and discounts on race entries and at local retailers. Some even offer their own uniforms and gear so you can show your club colors proudly.

The San Diego Track Club, established in 1954, is the oldest and largest running club in San Diego. The club specializes in all distances of running from the track to ultra-marathons. With experienced coaches, social events, a Grand Prix racing series, and the Dirt Dog trail race series, it is no wonder the SDTC has such a huge presence in San Diego.

For South County residents, the Bonita Road Runners is a non-profit organization established in the early eighties. The club offers either annual or lifetime memberships and donates the proceeds from its races and events to local area high school track and field programs. Their slogan, "A social club with a running problem," lets you know they like to have a good time no matter what.

North County Road Runners, San Diego Running Club, West Coast Road Runners, In-Motion Fit, Vavi Running Club, and Run-2-3, are a few of the other clubs that organize training programs and seminars to help you prepare for your next race. The majority of these clubs offer a half marathon training program since that is the most popular race distance in San Diego.
