Ocean Running Club will be presenting the 33rd Annual Seaside Half Marathon on Sunday, October 17, 2010. The race has a long history at the Jersey Shore and has proven popular to runners. There will also be an accompanying 5K race.

It’s a flat and fast, out and back course with a start on the boardwalk in front of Spicy’s and into Island Beach State Park and a finish back in front of Spicy’s.. Runners will enjoy great ocean and park views as they make their way on the scenic course. There will be chip timing to record accurate and timely results of all the finishers. After the run there will be refreshments inside at Spicy’s to include a buffet to quench the appetite from the run. Awards will be presented to the top 3 finishers (M/F) and top 3 in 5-year age groups (19 and under thru 70 and over). All pre – registered runners are guaranteed a technical t- shirt.
In the 5K Awards will go to the top 3 finishers (M/F) and first place in each 10-year age group (14 and under thru 80 and over).
According to Ocean Running Club’s Patty Hancock “this year we are having packet pick up the night before the race with a pasta party at Spicys ( 500 Bordwalk, seaside Hts) from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. The Half Marathon will also have pacers and a free lunch after the race”
Last year’s winners were Robert Cannon of Hadonfield, NJ in a time of 1:13:50 and Dactilla Booth of Long Branch, NJ in a time of 1:34:15.
The race will again benefit The Tri-Boro First Aid Squad of Seaside Heights, Seaside Park and Berkeley Twp. And The Ocean Running Club Scholarship Fund
The race is one of the best deals around for a half marathon with pre – registration only $30 before October 2, 2010. Registration is available on line.

what if you cant pick your race packet up the day before the race?
You can pick up your stuff on day of race.
