Sometimes its tough to stay motivated and keep up with a regular training schedule. Long runs can be especially hard running alone. Fortunately at the Jersey Shore there are many group runs at various locations throughout Monmouth and Ocean County.
The group runs are a great way to hook up with fellow runners and socialize during and after the run. When you know you have friends to meet up to run it’s a little easier to get out the door early in the morning.
Here are the regular group runs that are set up by the Jersey Shore Running Club
Sunday - 8 AM Group Runs in Middletown 6 - 20 Miles – This is a long standing run of over 25 years with a great history and many notable area runners have participated. It’s a great course through the back roads in the Navesink section of Middletown where you will hardly ever se a car. There are also some nice trails through Huber Woods and Hearthshorne Woods included in the many routes. Many runners use this run when training for their fall or spring marathons. It includes some challenging hills. The club puts out water stops every few miles and there are always post run refreshments at the Club House after the run. Photo Show of Sunday Run
