The theme of the Biggest Loser Event Challenge is "Don't Compete...Just Complete!" and aims to show people that being healthy and fit doesn't have to hurt. The Biggest Loser Event Challenge series will kick off in Myrtle Beach on September 25, but 16 more nationwide 5k and one mile events will eventually be announced for 2011. The inaugural event will be filmed by NBC for a two hour Biggest Loser special to be aired in November.
Whether you run or walk the 5k or mile distances, participants will be treated to a course along the scenic coast of South Carolina along Myrtle Beach. The Biggest Loser Event Challenge begins at 8am on Ocean Boulevard and runs through Family Kingdom Amusement Park until the finish line on the brand new Myrtle Beach boardwalk. The race is timed, but there are no awards or age groups--everyone is a winner just for coming!
When you cross the finish line at the first Biggest Loser Event Challenge, you'll be greeted by Biggest Loser's popular trainer Bob Harper and various Biggest Loser contestants from past seasons. Registration is now open and online registration will remain open until September 22, but keep in mind that race day registration is not allowed. The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce will host a free Fall Fitness Festival and Expo open to the public that features trainer Bob Harper following the event until 7pm.
