Edward Norton tweeted a few messages on his way to the start of the New York marathon, continuing his pleas for donations for the Maasai Wilderness Trust Foundation.

Matthew Reeve posted on Saturday that he'd taken a practice run of the last two miles of the marathon route, and that due to a Halloween parade near his place, he was worried about getting a good night's sleep. Reeve was running to raise money for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation for spinal cord research.

All worries aside, according to (unofficial) results on the ING New York Marathon website, both runners made it to the finish line.

Norton clocked in at a respectable 3:38:01 with Reeve crossing the line at 4:23:36.

Anthony Edwards, running for Shoe4Africa, was joined on his team by two-time New York marathon champ Tegra Loroupe. Edwards finished in 4:08:20.

Running as part of Norton's team, Alanis Morissette came in at 4:28:45.

What's next for these runners? Probably a shower, a good meal and some rest.

After that, who knows? Oh, but it has been announced that while in New York, Alanis will sing the National Anthem before game 5 of the World Series on Monday night. She should be well on her way to recovering from the race by then.
