I guess a heart attack isn't the only thing to fear while running...
An Arizona woman was attacked by a rabid fox while out running Monday, according to an Associated Press report. The fox allegedly bit the woman on the foot, then sank its teeth into her arm. According to some reports, she ran a mile with the animal attached to her arm, then threw it in the trunk of her car, taking it to be tested for rabies.
Two thoughts: that must have been a pretty quick mile, and good for her! I'd never have the wits about me to think of that. I'd just want it OFF!
Yowie. This brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "wearing fox."
Dogs tend to be the usual suspects in attacks, as with this recent story about a race director mauled by a couple of dogs while running in Macon, GA.
Be vigilant runners! Plenty of wildlife out there.
