Along with other well-known brands of Hispañola (Brugal and Bermudez), Barceló is often referred to as one of the three "Bs" of the Dominican Republic.

With unique smoky, woody, deep rich earth tones and a complex character, Imperial has earned a sterling reputation and many top awards.

This premium spirit is frequently enjoyed in a snifter or on the rocks, often accompanied by a fine cigar.

Ron Barceló Imperial rum earned a Gold Award at the RumXP International Tasting Competition at the Miami Rum Renaissance Festival.

The company traces its roots back to 1929 when Julián and Andrés Barceló of Majorca arrived in the Dominican Republic and opened their distillery in Santa Domingo, only to be adversely affected by the devastating hurricane of 1930.

Julian kept the brand going until his death in 1982. The company was re-organized with additional investment from Spain in 2000 and has effectively built their market share in 50 countries since that time. Barceló is the third largest selling rum in Spain with more than 600,000 cases sold each year.

The Barceló brand includes a wide range of rum, including Blanco white, Gran Platino super-premium white, 151 overproof, Dorado basic gold, Añejo gold, Gran Añejo golden premium and Imperial luxury rum.
