I recently interviewed Jess Hartley, novelist and freelance author, editor, and game designer. Jess has written for a variety of tabletop game lines, including more than 30 projects for White Wolf Games, along with some work for the Supernatural game line (based on the TV series of the same name) by Margaret Weis Productions, among others. She recently announced a new urban fae fiction project, one that allows "Patrons" to support her fiction directly (and get exclusive access to it, as well as other benefits.) Known as "direct-market fiction" or "reader-sustained writing", The Shattered Glass Project invites readers to take a direct role in the publishing process through a variety of different Patronage options during the Spring of 2010.
MT: Have you been to I-CON before?
JH: I had the honor to be I-Con's Gaming Guest of Honor last year, and I treasure the award plaque they gave me. This will be my second year at I-Con as a guest.

JH: I've just announced a fiction experiment entitled The Shattered Glass Project. It's a very different project than I've done before. I'm including the Press Release, and more details can be found at my website: www.jesshartley.com.
MT: I-CON has a very varied audience, including sci-fi fans, hard science fans, anime fans, movie fans, gaming fans and more. What audience will find your work most appealing?
JH: I think that gaming and horror fiction fans are the most likely to find my work appealing.
MT: Is there any event at the con that you are particularly interested in seeing yourself?
JH: I'm very much looking forward to visiting the LARP events being run.
