Princess Eugenie heads off to college next month at Newcastle University. Like her cousin Prince William did in his first year at St. Andrews, she has chosen to live in a £96-a-week residence hall. While having her sleeping quarters all to herself, she will share a kitchen and lounge with five other students. The Princess will continue to have bodyguards with her at all times, one will live with her while two will stay on campus. The daughter of Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York is known for being very down to earth, so the choice to live in a dorm is not too surprising. A friend told the Daily Mail that she “hates using her title” and “was adamant that she wanted to live in halls with her friends” and “be treated like any other undergraduate.”
In an update to an earlier story, Prince Laurent of Belgium was released from the hospital yesterday. After coming down with an illness while on vacation in Sardinia, the Prince was worried that his symptoms resembled H1N1 or “Swine Flu”. Therefore he requested to be transferred quickly to a Belgium hospital; it was there he was diagnosed with pneumonia. After a couple of days in the hospital he left with his wife, Princess Claire and while looking a bit thin, appeared in good spirits.
