Romance under the Pike Place Market sign? Absolutely. After all, what is romance? Romance, by definition, is a strong fascination or enthusiasm for something. So put passion for food together with the opportunity to meet new people, make new friends, or encounter someone you have been conversing with over a social network and you have the opportunity for romance.
Savor Seattle Tours has been doing "foodie" tours for over two years now. As they enter their third season, the first tour they started with, Pike Place Market Food and Cultural Tour, is evolving in the "Greatest Hits Tour". This tour takes you to all the places in Pike Place Market that, if you're visiting Seattle, are the "do not miss" places. If you are from Seattle, you will see places you have seen before but in a whole new light as you go behind the scenes and see how foods and beverages sold in the market, are produced and packaged. You get to talk to the owners/chefs/growers and learn the intricacies of how these wonderful foods come to your plate. This is a "foodies" dream tour come true. This tour spends all of its time in Pike Place Market, giving guests an intense and deep experience with the 9-acre space of the Market.
This 2-hour walking tour includes delicious samples of:
• Low-flying Alderwood smoked salmon
• Fresh and exotic seasonal fruit
• Locally-roasted "Seattle's Best" coffee
• Sweet and savory cherry-inspired treats
• Renowned chef Tom Douglas's triple coconut cream pie
• Savory Russian piroshky pastries
• #1 artisan handmade cheese in Washington
• America's Best Clam Chowder & Seafood Bisque - national award winners!
• Piping hot old-fashioned doughnuts
Good to remember, too, is that these tours take place every day between 10:00 AM and 1:00PM, except major holidays, so you can set up a date with that lovely new person you have been emailing and messaging. You can make it a "lunch" date so you can each "escape" afterwards to think through what you enjoyed about that potential romance encounter to see if you want to move forward or not.

You forgot to mention all of the homeless people down there around the Pike Place market that you have to deal with after dark. Scary.
Adam, you're right in your assessment that there was no mention of what happens in the Market after dark. Yet for those interested in solar and lunar cycles relevant to the topic of the article, it is noted that the tours run between 10am and 1pm, three perfectly decent and typically naturally well lit hours of the day.
thanks for the heads up, Carlanne.
What a great adventure for a date! Thanks Carlanne!
