In the midst of Halloween-month, romance novel lovers should expect the titles to be all about witches and
Goblins, or at least tricking and treating, right? The surprise is that there are twice as many Christmas titles as spooky ones. But even with publishers thinking ahead to December, there were standouts for both holidays included in the list below, among the more than one hundred titles for the month. Here’s the list of the craziest and catchiest attention-getting titles for this month:
Fangly, My Dear by Mardi Ballou - The pun of the month in honor of Halloween. Every romance novel lover must read at least one crazy, paranormally, halloweeny romance this month!
The Year of Living Shamelessly by Susanna Carr – It may be shameless of me, but who can resist reading a story about a whole year of shamelessness! This title holds enough promise to buy—along with a tasteful book cover to hide my shame, of course (kidding!)
The Pleasure Planner by Rose Larkin – What a catchy—and possibly enterprising—concept! Move over wedding planners! Or maybe wedding planners everywhere should buy this book?
Ningloo Nights by Tracy Cooper-Posey – What? Nonsense title of the month—this one comes under the heading of crazy! I would seriously consider buying this eye-catcher for the sole reason of finding out what a ningloo is. And more importantly, what happens with ningloos at night?
Puckheads by Sue Swift – This is the most intriguing one-word title for a romance novel ever—possibly because it’s the most UN-romantic one word title ever. Now readers have to find out how puckheads become romantic in this story.
The Millionaire’s Misbehaving Mistress by Kimberly Lang – the Alliteration of the Month award! Also incorporates three key elements from the romance novel list of key elements—money, sex and a heroine with an issue (virginity or mistress). How could this Marvelous title Miss!
A Horse Called Hustle by C.J. Love – This title catches the attention of horse-lovers everywhere. But if you’re not a horse lover (and this is NOT a young adult novel), I’m wondering exactly what this alleged horse book is about? Would I buy a book about a horse to find out about the hustle? Yes, I’ve been lasooed.
Scrooge and the Single Girl by Christine Rimmer – Best Christmas or December Holiday title – the pun is catchy and the concept of a scrooge-like hero is even catchier! I would definitely buy this book—but maybe not for a couple of months…
