Menage a Trois is just such a bottle. A delicious fusion of Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet, this label is more than just a pretty face. Selling at about $12 per bottle, it will also go easy on your pocket.
Menage a Trois is a sexy series of wines created by the Folie A Deux Winery in California. Each of the three offerings, red, white, and rose, combine three varietals of wine into one unexpected bottle. The red is a sultry mix of Zinfandel, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. To preserve each flavor profile, each varietal is fermented separately and brought together upon bottling.
This unseeming tryst of characters in this red is surprisingly satisfying. The Zinfandel brings its sweet spiciness of raspberry and blackberry, while the Merlot adds its silky smooth texture to the palette. The rich and full tannins of the Cabernet Sauvignon gives this threesome its umph.
Include Menage a Trois Red to your beef, grilled chicken, or pasta menu. For a casual night in think steak or hamburgers. For more ambitious cooks the sky is the limit.
If you prefer White Wine give the Menage a Trois White a spin. A threeway tango between Chardonnay, Moscato, and Chenin Blanc, this white is aimed to please.
Wherever your wine adventures take you remember that romance is not something reserved for candlelit dinners or a night at the Opera. The most romantic gestures are the little ones that happen everyday.
