Doc's food really does rock
One of the trickiest things about dating is finding a time that works for both you and the person you want to spend time with. The weekend is the preferred time to engage in romantic activity, but that is no guarantee that the stars will align for both you and you date.
If you live in Austin, Texas then it is a safe bet that your weekend life is dense. Chances are you've got a killer ska show with Benny Versus The Beast on Friday night , a friend to help move on Saturday morning with free drinks and pizza from The Onion that night, a baby shower on Sunday afternoon, and a work assignment you completely blew off that has to be finished before you get back to work on Monday. How are you supposed to fit romance inside of all that? Chances are you blew off your training for that half marathon next month too.Luckily, Austin is a city that has just as much to do during the week as it does on the weekends, so if you want to have some fun and take advantage of some drink specials, why not go out on Tuesday night instead?
Docs Motorworks is in the SOCO District of South Congress, and offers up a wonderfully laid back atmosphere, great drink specials, and delicious eats; especially in the burger department. While a great place for dining with drink specials galore, Docs offers one more very special addition to its Tuesday night repertoire in the weekly Tuesday night event known as Gringo Bingo.
Hosted by a mad man in a cape, luchador mask, and other ridiculous outfits, Gringo Bingo is classic Mexican loteria with an Austin twist. This Homegrown activity is a chance for you to have some laid back fun with a person you just met or a place to break up long term relationship monotony with something different. Here is the description of the event from Doc's website:
Every Tuesday night at Doc's MotorWorks is Gringo Bingo night. It's free, it's fun and you'll have three chances to win your parties' bill for the night. We start bingo at 9:00 but we'll have our drink specials all night long including all Texas beers and Dos Equis on tap for $2.50/pint and $9/pitchers and Tito's Vodka for $3.50!

i've actually attended gringo bingo, and it's a blast. that host guy is awesome! the first time i went, i was with a group of girlfriends. we had so much fun, that i suggested it as a place for a date with this new guy. it was great - the host guy offered the best entertainment! i have this penciled in every week now! if only i could find an awesome mexican wrestler mask to wear......
