Bette Myers' 'Masterpiece' - the Face of Jesus.
Many who have had 'near death' experiences have recognized this image as that of the face they have seen during their visit to the other side. One of my favorite images of Jesus, this face of Jesus was painted by Bette Myers, who left a hand-written testimony of the story of this unusual painting.
While experiencing some sort of trance, as witnessed by a friend, the painter completed the painting in one sitting. Though normally, the painter took several hours and several sessions to end a painting, this one was done in approximately two and a half hours from beginning to end, with no retouching needed.
Once finished, Bette Myers showed the portrait of Jesus to her son, Charles 'Chuck' Reed, who had always been her most demanding critic. He simply told her that this 'is a masterpiece' needing no corrections. At that moment, she remembered what Jesus had told her, ten years before when she had died of cardiac arrest in 1974. She had wanted to stay with Jesus, but He had told her, three times, that she needed to 'go back'. The third time, He specifically told her to paint her 'masterpiece'. After many paintings, she finally knew that this was the one that Jesus had referred to, when her son called it a 'masterpiece'.
Ever since, many people who have had 'near death' experiences, have unexpectedly encountered this image by chance. Upon seeing it, they have recognized the face they saw during their unusual experiences. In fact, a few local people are among those fortunate to have seen this face personally during their battles between life and death.
The face of Jesus is claimed to have comforted many during difficult times. In His eyes, a dove, representing the Holy Spirit, is clearly seen. His features and countenance inspire the peace and joy of the Risen Christ!
